Secular and sacred divide: alive and stifling creativity

‘Creative ability and personal responsibility are strongest when the mind is free from supernatural belief and operates in an atmosphere of freedom and democracy.’

I found this quote from unknown origin as I was doing a search for creative quotes. I don’t know the context for the quote and so I don’t want to comment directly on it. However, it did get me thinking. I know many a ‘believing creative’ who would wholeheartedly disagree with the quote and claim the complete opposite. I also know many ‘secular creatives’ who would wholeheartedly agree with it.

Perhaps the only thing that weakens creative ability is a closed mind, one that doesn’t seek dialogue with any side of the debate?
